SJC – AMAYA Bags 4th & 9th Place in 2007
Midwifery Licensure Examination

By: Sr. Ma. Bella Mojica, AR.

SJC- Amaya is a newly opened school, with only 230 population, in the midst of the municipality of Tanza, Cavite. It is everybody’s dream that the first graduates, of the institution be successful in its first licensure examination.  With a  hope and much prayer, we always wish that the pioneer graduates of St. Joseph College – Amaya be victorious in the forthcoming Midwifery Licensure Examination.

With God’s providence our prayers and hope were not only answered but He gave us something to rejoice with.  These blessings came when the result of the 2007 Midwifery Licensure came out from the PRC website last May 8, 2007 where 2 of our graduates, Mona Liza R. Anuat and Mudelin Elsi Sy were placed on the 4th and 9th place respectively  in above licensure examination.  Out of the three thousand six hundred examinees, these two students who are pride of the institution even during the regular school days, gave SJC-Amaya  the honor  and pride for their achievements.

Another dream is that, at least we can have a good passing average which is high enough from the national passing which is 53% for these first graduates.  Again, it is another God’s gift to us to be one of the top schools in the Philippines. Placing 3rd for 30 – 59 category in the National standing is another laurel for our school.  This commendation from the Professional Regulation Commission was received by our school for excellent performance in the recent examination.  For this achievement, SJC-Amaya was awarded by the Commission, an Award of Recognition last June 7, 2007 during the Oath taking ceremony at the Manila Hotel.

To celebrate this memorable event, with the support of the  school administrators and the faculty members a motorcade routing to the nearby municipalities, was offered last June 1, 2007 in honor of the board passers and the top students as well. It was also done as part of the promotion of the school in the neighboring communities.  This activity was followed by a testimonial lunch where all board passers were treated with a sumptuous meal and entertainment in recognition of the efforts that our students have exerted in order to pass the examination. Indeed, we were blessed with the presence of our Superior General, Mother Maxima Pelaez, AR who, at the same time was our guest speaker. She gave an inspiring message and advice to the new midwives. Added to that was the challenge given by the School Principal, Mrs. Ma. Theresa Padilla.  Through this joyful celebration the students felt, that we are proud of them and really happy for their personal achievements.

These achievements of the school serve as an  inspiration for us to improve the quality of education we are offering to our students and greater challenge for us in preparing the students in the forthcoming midwifery licensure examination.  The administrators and the faculty members will always be exerting their best to achieve this goal.

Now, in all humility, we can now introduce our school as an institution that can produce quality students through the virtues of discipline, love and faith in God.  All these, will always be offered to our good Lord who has never failed us in our prayers for our school and our students. God can never be outdone in generosity. We, also salute our very own patron St. Joseph.
