FRESH from OLSHS

- So fresh from a health break, Sr. Ma. Marcela dela Cruz, A.R. assumed to the office as the New Superior / Directress in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart School, Quezon City.

- To refresh the faculty, non-teaching staff and personnel from the summer’s heat, they plunged into a 2-day Retreat (June 1 & 2) at the Capuchin Retreat Center in Lipa City, Batangas with Fr. Rene Lagaya, SDB as their facilitator.

- Still feelin’ fresh; the whole OLSHSian community welcomes the Academic Year 2007-2008 with enthusiasm and spirit-filled morning on June 4, 2007.

- To retain their freshness, Sr. Miguela Obera, A.R. gave the teachers a Refresher Course in Evangelization last June 30 while Sr. Marilou Alcala, A.R. gave a Leadership Training Seminar to the ARSC and Club Officers on the 7th of July.

- Too refreshing were the insights / reflections given by the theologians from the Recoletos Formation Center to the COLC Members in their Annual Recollection that was held two days before the Feast of the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. They then received the scapulars on the day (July 16) within the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass officiated by Fr. Rene Villalino, OAR.

- Looking fresh and young during the Nutrition Month, the Technology & Livelihood Education (T.L.E.) Club with the theme: “Healthy Lifestyles ng Kabataan” was highlighted with the Sandwich and Salad Making Contest.

- There’s a need to freshen our knowledge on our Great Founder, the Religion Department launched the “St. Augustine and Adeodatus Looked- Like” Contest but before that Fr. Regino Bangcaya, OAR talked on St. Augustine’s Philosophy emphasizing one of his famous quotations, “My heart is restless until it rests in You”.

- The aim to refresh our cultural heritage as a Filipino, the Kadipan Club hosted the “Mutya ng Pilipinas”, depicting the different costumes, dances and dialects all over the country this month of August or “Buwan ng Wika”.

Indeed the first quarter of this School Year seemed to be all refreshments.
