1st AR Principals & Academic Coordinators’ Seminar-Workshop 2007

By: Sr. Ma. Lirio Guillermo, AR.

Tagaytay City – the Augustinian Recollect Principals and Academic Coordinators convened for a seminar-workshop-training last August 1-4, 2007. Aimed to empower our lay partners in the Congregation’s Education Apostolate, it was a recognized need that the Congregation trains not only Principals but also our Academic Coordinators.

Arriving on the first of August at the Tagaste Retreat House, seminar-workshop-training kits have been distributed to the participants after they registered. The first get-together was in the refectory for a welcome snacks and a continued exchange of stories until after prayer time. After which, dinner was served and immediately orientation regarding the schedule of activities in the succeeding days, followed. Sr. Brigida welcomed the delegates to TRH, then Sr. Ma. Flora Silvero consulted the body for other seminar-workshop-training details.

Very Reverend M. Maxima Pelaez, A.R., gave her all-embracing task, set goals and direction for everyone towards the betterment of our apostolate as this is reason why we have convened. Sr. Ma. Flora Silvero, the newly appointed A.R. Schools’ Superintendent delivered well her part in leading the participants together with Sr. Ma. Editha Escalania, A.R. who also shared the highlights of the Education Apostolate. Sr. Modesta San Jose, AR, reviewed the entire body as to the Duties and Functions of an Academic Coordinator after which Sr. Maria Lirio Guillermo, AR shared about Work Ethics, Responsibility and Accountability. Dr. Boiser and Fr. Ramil also shared their concerns in trying to help our schools.

Five Academic Coordinators from SRC-Parañaque, SRC-Manila, CA-Toledo City, IHMA-Minganilla and ICC-Balayan shared their experiences during an after dinner session during the second day. The inputs delivered during the second yielded better sharing results during the third day. Their sharing really helped neophyte Academic Coordinators. The discussions were interesting and everyone learned many things from each other as inspired by the Holy Spirit. The seminar ended with some Resolutions formulated by the participants of the seminar-workshop-training.

To wind up, it was indeed a gathering full of graces and blessings brought about by the everyday celebration of the Holy Eucharist. Thanks to our Mass celebrants. As one body who participated in the seminar who communed in the table of the Lord, the same body carries out the work of the Divine Teacher: Jesus.
